Single Song
ΩΨΧ - Lyrics by Spinthyristes
An Imagined Prayer of the Ancient World
About the Track
This short composition serves as the epilogue to To the Old Pagan Religion. The final verse of the preceding poem ends with the words "...and give the gods their last received prayer," referring to the ancient Greek deities.
Inspired by this closing image, Spinthyristes created an original prayer-like text based on the Greek alphabet, reading symbolically backwards from Ω (Omega) to Α (Alpha). Rather than following any linguistic, historical or scientific interpretation, the text is a purely imaginative creation in which both the names and the symbolic meanings of the Greek letters become the foundation of a mystical invocation.
Musical Interpretation
The music attempts to evoke the atmosphere of an ancient Greek ritual. Although inspired by traditional Greek musical aesthetics, the composition is performed entirely with guitars and a single percussion instrument.
The whispered narration reinforces the ceremonial atmosphere, as though the ritual were being conducted by a high priest within an ancient temple, allowing the album to drift gradually from history into mythology.
